    Fave Fashion TV Shows

Let’s be honest… with this pandemic and these ongoing lockdowns, we’ve probably all been consuming way too much tv. (Now that the weather is warmer, less so). Sometimes I find I’m not even paying attention to the plot because I’m totally mesmerized by the outfits LOL Here I’m rounding up some of my favourite series with amazing fashion. Gossip Girl Ok I’m not going to lie – I watched this series way beyond an appropriate age. Like should a 30 something be watching a series about [ultra rich] high school teenagers?? Probably not But the fashion is stellar in this series! Let’s start with besties, Blair Waldorf & Serena Van…

    Capsule Wardrobe

For the month of June, I’ve decided to challenge my creativity by doing what I’m calling The Capsule Wardrobe Challenge! You may have heard of the Project 333, where you select a 33-piece capsule wardrobe from your existing closet and create a multitude of outfits that you wear from 3 months. And if you haven’t, well now you have 😊 Three months seemed a bit excessive to me so I’m doing a bite-size version: 11 pieces for 1 month. From left to right: (1) deep coral tiered maxi dress (2) orange & beige striped midi skirt (3) black graphic tee (4) floral printed tee (5) white tee (6) white shirt…

    Summer Fashion Faux Pas

If you’ve been around for a while or read any of my previous posts, you know I am particular about a few things – like bras and pantyhose. With the warm weather coming (and going and then coming again), I thought it would be helpful to talk about some of the challenges that summer style brings. Mind Your Fabrics Many fabrics are seasonless – meaning you can wear them year-round. Then there are fabrics that are either for cool seasons or warm seasons.  Cool seasons: wool/wool blends, cashmere, leather, suede, fleece. Warm seasons: linen, cotton, silk/satin. Living in a place where the weather is cool (cold) more than warm, I…

    Handbag Trends: Spring 2021

This topic really needs a post of its own – there is a lot to cover. Handbags really ran the gamut this season. From teeny tiny to oversize and everything in between. 1.   Tiny Bags I am sure we have all seen that photo of Lizzo carrying a teensy purse on the AMA red carpet. It looked like a piece of candy, no? They look cute but are they functional in any way?? Unless you have an assistant following you around carrying your stuff (as I am sure Lizzo does), these are just for show. But that has not stopped me from having 1 or 2, and legit I cannot…

    Accessory Trends: Spring 2021

Accessories are used to complete, elevate, and modernize a look. Even a “simple” tee and jeans, or a t-shirt dress can be turned into an outfit with the right accessories. Let us get started! Click to follow links.   1.  Chunky Jewelry A beautiful statement piece is an easy way to make an outfit more polished. Lately, the trend is toward simple large chains & necklaces, mostly in gold. Less is more – generally not a motto to which I subscribe but there are always exceptions, and this is one. Coin-style pendants are a more classic alternative if you are not a fan of such large pieces. Dish Tip: layer…

    Fashion Trends: Spring 2021

Fashion Friends, hello! Spring is HERE  This is my round up of fashion trends for the season. Snap these up before it is too late (or call me if you need help). 1. Trench Coats… with a twist The trench coat is an eternal classic, becoming highly popular after (and arguably originating from military uniforms of) WWI. This season, this classic style has taken on fun and fashionable twists, from bold shoulders/sleeves to oversize lapels, cape styles and slits. But you can never go wrong with an original. On the Runway Where to Buy (click photo to follow link): Club Monaco Everlane 2. Oversized button-down shirts Who loves a crisp white…

    Personal Shopping

One of my favourite “hobbies” besides blogging and writing about fashion is – obvi – shopping! I enjoy finding new and interesting items and working them into my wardrobe.  My long-time friend Claudia, a faithful and engaged follower of mine (thank you sweetie XO) was looking for a wardrobe refresh for the coming spring. She told me she tends to buy the same styles and colours over and over again, and wanted to break away from that. She said to me “How do you do it? Can you help me?” And I was more than happy to oblige.  A little bit about Claudia… she is a professional with a young…
